About us
Community Light Association “Down Beach” operates as the local implementation arm of Afro Access Foundation in Cameroon. Our work focuses on practical, community-driven solutions that address poverty, unemployment, limited access to education, and healthcare challenges.
We believe sustainable change begins within the community — through empowerment, opportunity, and dignity.
Who We Serve
We serve vulnerable children and youth, women and single-parent households, low-income families, persons with disabilities, and rural and underserved communities, focusing on those facing social, economic, and educational barriers. Through inclusive and community-driven programs, we work to ensure that the most disadvantaged individuals have access to opportunities, essential services, and the support they need to build stable, dignified, and empowered lives.

Our Imapct Areas
Focused programs creating measurable, life-changing outcomes across education, health, livelihoods, and community wellbeing.
Many children in our communities face significant barriers to accessing quality education due to financial hardship and limited resources. To address this, we provide school uniforms, bags, books, and essential learning materials, while also supporting rural and underserved schools and assisting children from low-income families. Our goal is to increase school attendance, improve learning outcomes, and reduce dropout rates by ensuring every child has the basic tools needed to succeed in school.
Unemployment remains a significant challenge for youth and adults. We equip individuals with practical skills to improve economic independence.
Programs include:
Sewing and tailoring training (Level 1 & 2)
Computer training (Level 1–3)
Certification in partnership with accredited institutions
Access to training equipment
Impact Goal: Create income-generating opportunities and reduce poverty.
Limited healthcare access continues to affect many families.
